iStreamPlanet's Aventus Cloud Platform Ready for General Availability
(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)
Live sports events take place almost 24 hours a day somewhere around the globe. Whether it is American football, soccer or any of the other sporting events being broadcast daily, viewers want to access it using their smartphone, tablet or any platform capable of delivering the content. Streaming video is seen as a reliable method of delivery of this content, requiring less investment than traditional broadcasting technology.
The iStreamPlanet solution is a multiplatform video-workflow with high-quality streaming video experiences to connected audiences around the world. The company has started shipping its Aventus cloud-based live video workflow solution for general availability to provide premium live content to a global footprint of connected devices.
The cloud-based platform is a simplified workflow to give customers the ability to stream world class content. The announcement of Microsoft (News

The Aventus platform is specifically designed to address solutions for the cloud environment and it was built from the ground up for purpose. This will give broadcasters providing live video workflow a virtualized environment that will reduce cost, improve efficiency, and ensure global delivery of their content on any device at any time. Live events and live linear channels can be provisioned for live streaming channels for delivery, giving content owners, aggregators, and distributors the ability to speed up their approach to online video by decreasing the complexity, time, and resources.
"Aventus is the culmination of over a dozen years of live streaming experiences. We have worked together with the most high profile and innovative companies in media and technology to innovate and create Aventus. We are bringing to market the world's best cloud based, multiscreen, live video workflow solution," said Mio Babic, CEO and founder of iStreamPlanet.
The cloud infrastructure can work from a single to hundreds of channels in public and private cloud through software-as-a-service (SaaS (News
- Alert)) or on-premises software as a license deployment. The software architecture greatly reduces the price point of the service when compared to hardware-based infrastructure. This type of access allows small organizations to broadcast their content to a global audience to increase the number of viewers and the advertising opportunities that come with it.
"We have worked extensively with iStreamPlanet to stream hundreds of live events to meet viewer demand for live, multiscreen video. Aventus is a significant step forward in helping us overcome the challenges in scaling our live video streaming to meet consumer demand and market opportunity," said Eric Black, VP of Technology at NBC Sports Group.
