(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)

The upcoming Super Bowl match between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots is also presenting a venue where Samsung (News - Alert) will be launching its Galaxy Note super phone. The company has prepared a 90-sec commercial and it is the first-ever Super Bowl ad in its 71-year history.

The ad was entirely shot with the Galaxy Note super phone’s HD-quality video camera and has been directed by Bobby Farrelly - whose credits include movies like There's Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin and Fever Pitch.

Officials with Samsung said its new super phone is a game changer and wanted a platform that is as significant, which is why the company chose the Super Bowl to launch its product in North America.

The Galaxy Note ad will be aired during the 4th quarter of Super Bowl XLVI on February 5th.

According to Samsung, the new Galaxy Note features the world’s first 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display with an expansive high-resolution screen for providing users with an immersive viewing experience. The larger screen also enables users to view more in one glance with minimal scrolling and screen transitions. The phone’s unique S-pen is also touted by company officials as being one of the most advanced in pen input technology featuring an array of functions including pressure sensitivity, preciseness, speed and more and along with the larger touch screen it creates the best-in-class mobile input experience.

Other notable features include: Samsung Approved for Enterprise (SAFE); 1.5GHz dual-core processor; Android (News - Alert) 2.3, Gingerbread + TouchWiz; Kies Air; AllShare; Social Hub and Media Hub HD; 4G LTE enabled; 8.0 Megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 2.0 Megapixel front-facing camera; 1080p HD (30fps) video recording; 2500mAh battery; and more.
