Cellular South Debuts TV Commercial During Super Bowl

February 07, 2011

(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)

Cellular South, a wireless communications provider, debuted a new television commercial showcasing the advances of smartphone technology during Super Bowl.

The 30-second spot displayed Cellular South’s most advanced Android (News - Alert)-powered touchscreen smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S as well as the Samsung (News - Alert) AllShare software platform. This allows users to seamlessly share content between various devices within a home or office network using an Android smartphone.

In a release, Lisa Flynt, director of marketing for Cellular South (News - Alert) said, “This new ad showcases two of our most important priorities in a clever and humorous way – providing our customers with the latest smartphone devices and giving them access to the industry’s latest applications to make their wireless experience more robust.”

A crowded sports bar was featured as the venue for the new commercial with several people watching the big game on digital flat panel televisions lining the walls in the room. A group of three women use a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone to stream and watch an HD-quality video. The content viewed by the women and how it disrupts the scene are not revealed.

Cellular South wanted to keep the end of the commercial a mystery, as it served to promote interest both in the Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung’s AllShare software.

“The scene in the ad portrays what many of our customers are doing everyday – using their devices to make their lives more enjoyable and convenient. Our customers realize the power they have, the productivity they achieve and the fun they experience everyday using a smartphone and having access to the best apps,” Flynt said.

Samsung’s AllShare was showcased in the advertisement. This new software features Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) technology, which allows the sharing of content among devices on a user’s home network.

AllShare is available on the Galaxy Tab, The Galaxy S smartphone, Blu-ray players and Samsung Smart TVs. It allows users to seamlessly share content from one device to another. DLNA is available on over 9,000 certified televisions, personal computers, mobile phones, printers, DVD and Blu-ray players, game consoles, digital media players, photo frames, cameras and other devices.

Cellular South, has enlisted its Discover Apps experts to identify the very best e-filing apps found on Android Market and has identified some apps, too. These are expected to help users manage their finances and file taxes on-the-go.
