June 04, 2010

(WORLD CUP TECHNOLOGY)
Soccer fans who are also Sprint (News - Alert) customers will not have to worry about missing a World Cup match when they are away from their television.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be brought to the Sprint phones including HTC (News - Alert) EVO 4G by Sprint in collaboration with ESPN. Soccer fans can tune into 56 live World Cup matches, including semifinals and final along with the opening concert with ESPN (News - Alert) Mobile TV available through Sprint TV.

"With World Cup matches taking place during the morning and afternoon in U.S. time zones, soccer fans may not be at home to tune in, but Sprint and ESPN Mobile TV have the solution with live matches customers can watch no matter where they are on the Sprint network," said Len Barlik, vice president for wireless and wireline services at Sprint, in a release.
Barlik added customers can watch the live World Cup matched in high-quality video on EVO 4G as Sprint is committed to delivering the best mobile video experience and the content.

HTC EVO 4G, America's first 4G phone with a large 4.3-inch screen will allow the Sprint customers to a rich experience of mobile video viewing with high-quality video streaming at 3G and 4G speeds. A built-in kickstand for easy hands-free viewing is also included in HTC EVO 4G.

Customers can access everything from news, weather and sports to children's programs and comedy, including Disney Channel and ABC with Sprint TV. The Sprint Everything Data plans include ESPN Mobile TV, a part of the Sprint TV package at no additional cost. While new lines of service require a two-year service agreement, existing Sprint customers can switch to an Everything Data plan without extending their service agreement.

ESPN Mobile TV's coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup can be accessed by Sprint customers anywhere on the reliable Sprint 3G network. Faster data speeds anywhere on the Sprint 4G network can be experienced by customers with HTC EVO 4G.

The new line of service can be tried for 30 days under the new Sprint Free Guarantee. Premium content, third-party billing and international changes and usages not included in the plan will not be refunded.
