Men Spend Less Time on Summer Dating Due to World Cup Fever

AreYouInterested.com is a top dating application on Facebook (News - Alert) Platform which has more than 15 million users. In a recent poll, the company found out that singles are spending very less time in search of romance when compared with the time they spend on watching the World Cup. AreYouInterested.com posted the survey on its AreYouInterested.com Facebook Fan Page. Its intension was to discover whether the World Cup is limiting summer dating. Overall, the results from the survey have shown that World Cup is more preferred by singles other than finding romance.
Some of the results unveiled in the survey are as follows:

58 percent of participants are using less time seeking dates since they wish to watch the World Cup.

40 percent of participants are willing to cancel a date in order to watch the World Cup Championship game.

78 percent of participants prefer to go on a date to watch the World Cup at a social venue.

44 percent of participants are more likely to be turned off if someone they were seeing suggested watch the World Cup for a date.
Over 200 users responded to the poll and 80 percent of participants were men.
In a release Clifford Lerner who is the CEO of SNAP Interactive, Inc. said that "It's no surprise that the World Cup, a world-wide event that only happens once every four years, would trump summer dating. After seeing these results, I would recommend if you want to ask someone out, incorporate the World Cup into that date. Watching a sports game, especially something as popular as the World Cup, will automatically give you something to talk about and can create an instant connection as you cheer on your teams."
