Optus Teams with Option to Offer Australian Mobile Users a USB modem Personalised for Soccer Tournament in South Africa

Optus, an Australian company specializing in integrated telecommunications, delivering cutting-edge communications, information technology and entertainment services, has selected Option's total solution, the iCON XY to launch its wireless broadband promotion for the soccer tournament in South Africa.
Option is a wireless technology company and the company's iCON XY is a full mobile broadband solution and a combination of hardware, software and a simplified supply chain process in one solution. The device is an HSPA modem with speeds up to 7.2Mbps and 5.76Mbps. In addition it also comes with Option's Zero-CD Plug'n Play technology and uCAN Connect connection manager platform, enabling a smooth and simple customer experience reducing service and support costs.
Option official clarified that the company designed iCON XY specially for the soccer tournament is and fully customized for the huge number of soccer fans in Australia. Mobile users get the choice between 2 decoration covers - one with the logo of the Soccer Federation Australia and one with a famous Socceroo, the official nickname for the Australian soccer team. Users also have an option to select other covers.
Furthermore the users can easily chose between three exclusive software skins for the user interface of their connection manager based on the uCAN Connect connection manager platform: Optus black, Optus Tiger design and Optus Rhino design. Through this, they can get access to a rich selection of soccer and Optus services related websites. This is complemented with exclusive Optus soccer content on the SD card.
'A soccer tournament is an ideal moment to have such a tailor-made broadband offering but there are lots of events, specific communities or target audiences for which this solution can be rolled out. The feedback we get from the mobile operators is that the iCON XY is really a compelling and differentiating offering,' Jan Callewaert, CEO at Option said.
Optus believes that by working with Option and the iCON XY, it can now bring a very unique and complete mobile broadband offering to Australian soccer fans.
