MatSing Lens Antennas Providing Mobile Broadband Coverage for the 2021 Presidential Inauguration

MatSing, the world's leading manufacturer of the latest high-capacity lens antenna technology, today announces they will once again be powering mobile broadband coverage at the Presidential Inauguration using their unique lens antennas due to the high demand of mobile coverage.

MatSing's lens antenna technology will be used by the top three cellular carriers in North America to provide 4G, LTE (News - Alert) and 5G broadband coverage for the event, and will work with these carriers towards building a macro wireless network in Washington D.C.'s National Mall (between the Washington and Lincoln Memorials, the White House, Capitol and Smithsonian Institute). Antennas from these will be kept up permanently and maintained by MatSing and the carriers after the ceremony, helping to power future events like Ball for the Mall and the District Cup.

Despite COVID-19 procedures having been announced for the 2021 inauguration, MatSing will be providing more antennas than the 2017 inauguration, anticipating an increased demand for data as attendees will have the latest mobile technology and smartphones. The patented lens antenna solution outperforms traditional antenna technology, providing coverage that has become a higher demand in larger venues and events such as this.

"During one of the most prestigious events nationwide, we want to ensure that the demand of internet usage will be smooth in oder to capture and share the historic moment," explained Michael Matytsine, MatSing co-founder and EVP of Operations. "Our sharp and stable lens antenna structure will eliminate the usual pitfalls in providing mobile connectivity at this large scale."

MatSing previously provided the 2017 inauguration with 4G, LTE and 5G coverage with little interruption as thousands of people were using wireless services during the ceremony.

Each single lens antenna can provide up to 48 high-capacity coverage sectors and can support multiple frequency bands, replacing up to 48 traditional antennas with a single lens. This will lead to millions saved in building and operations costs through fewer active components and fewer active sites, which will also help with security purposes as the event will be in high lockdown mode.

About MatSing

Founded in 2005, MatSing has developed and patented new meta-materials to create the world's first lightweight and multibeam Lens Antennas. This new approach for high-performance, high-capacity antenna design is more efficient and offers key advantages over dish and array antennas, the ability to provide broadband coverage, emit and maintain multiple beams, and to do so cleanly with minimal RF interference. Nationwide coverage isn't the only critical challenge facing telecoms companies, and MatSing's Lens antenna solution is ideal to meet the capacity demands of a smartphone-equipped population with new apps that chew through data, including uses at outdoor events, stadiums and macro uses in major cities. Each antenna can provide multiple independent sectors, up to 48, providing the highest capacity across multiple bands with the fewest antennas possible. MatSing lens technology is the perfect fit for 4G, LTE, and 5G mobile broadband coverage, and it is the most cost-effective network densification tool in the industry.
