VERT Signs Auburn University Basketball Program to Track Player Load with new G-VERT™ Team System Technology

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- VERT, a leader in wearable athletic technology, announces its newest NCAA basketball program, Auburn University, a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Committed to preventing player injury, Auburn University will be using the new G-VERT™ Team System technology for its multi-appendage capabilities.  This technology allows coaches to accurately track jump and intensity load both on player's core and appendages.

The tech company debuted the G-VERT™ Team System last year with their first NBA client, the Miami Heat.  "We're excited to use the G-VERT system and see new exertion and stress information on our players to keep them at the top of their game throughout the season," said Bruce Pearl, Auburn Head Coach.

G-VERT™ intensity tracker measures the G-force of every movement including kinetic enrgy, jump analytics, power, stress percentage and appendage asymmetry.  G-VERT™ is non-invasive imu (inertial measurement unit) and worn on an athlete's waist.  G-VERT™ is small enough to be applied to specific appendages (example: left or right calf) to gather asymmetry and limb specific data.  Measurements are sent in real-time to VERT's proprietary architecture for performance and injury prevention analytics.

"My number one goal is to keep our players healthy," said Damon Davis, Strength & Conditioning Coach. "When I learned about the ability to monitor exertion and stress in real-time by appendage, I knew it was a mandatory integration for our program," said Davis.

VERT was the first wearable technology used for in-game play in the NCAA.  VERT technology was recently a part of the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship games. Using VERTcast, a sports telemetry system broadcasting through live-screen and television newscast, viewers where able to experience student athleticism in real-time during the semi-final and championship games on ESPN 2.
