Sysorex Announces $2.5 Million AirPatrol Contract

Big data software solutions and infrastructure provider Sysorex (NASDAQ:SYRX) today announced that its AirPatrol mobile device locationing and analytics system has been chosen as the worker locationing and asset management platform to be used in a new community under development in the State of Qatar to house workers on the country's infrastructure projects ahead of the nation's hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The total value of the contract to Sysorex is estimated at approximately $2.5 million (US).

The project is led by Doha, Qatar-based developer Daruna Development (Daruna). It plans to design, build and operate a turn-key community that will include living accommodations, recreation, healthcare and retail facilities for 6,500 workers south of Doha, Qatar. Construction is slated to begin in mid-July and be ready for workers to begin moving in in February of 2016.

To assist in the running of the new community, Daruna has engaged a Sysorex partner, Networked Solutions Limited (NSL), to install and operate a state-of-the-art integrated IT based human capital management solution to keep its many operations running smoothly. The solution includes networking the community with more than 1,000 of Sysorex's AirPatrol sensors to provide location-based services and security as well as insight into how residents flow through the community, which facilities are most popular, and where improvements can be made.

"We look forward to developing the already strong strategic partnership between NSL and Sysorex by incorporating Sysorex's AirPatrol platform not only in this project, but in each of the future workers' community projects Daruna has planned," said Daniel Pilmore, Managing Director of Networked Solutions. "The ability of Sysorex's products to provide not just real time locationing and asset management, but also big data analysis for the entire community is a key enabler for NSL improving and building on our current integrated accommodation management offering. This in turn has a direct mpact on improving the experience of expatriate workers in Qatar," he said.

"We're thrilled to be involved in a project of this magnitude. This is an opportunity to combine our industry leading AirPatrol location-based services products with our deep domain expertise in big data analytics to help develop the infrastructure for the 'smart communities' of the future," said Sysorex CEO Nadir Ali. "We believe this is not only an important project for Qatar, but could also serve as a model for new smart cities worldwide," he added.
