MediaLink Appoints Daryl Evans As New Head of Media Strategy

MediaLink, the leading strategic advisory firm serving companies at the convergence of media, marketing, technology and entertainment, today announced that Daryl Evans has joined the company in the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Mobile, Media and Advertising Strategy. Evans most recently served as Vice President, Consumer Advertising and Marketing and Communications at AT&T (News - Alert).

Daryl adds deep experience to a variety of practice areas at MediaLink: mobile marketing, media strategy and sports marketing, among others.

Evans joined AT&T in 2001 to spearhead the launch of Cingular (News - Alert) Wireless during its founding year. In 2007, AT&T absorbed the Cingular brand at which point Evans' responsibilities expanded to include consumer advertising as well as marketing communications and merchandising for their suite of consumer products including AT&TWireless, U-verse TV and connected wireless products. Evans was a key leader in the successful execution of AT&T's media strategy, and adding social and mobile into the company's overall marketing mix.

Before joining AT&T, Evans served as Managing Director for Randstad, the third largest employment company in the world. Prior to that, Evans held multiple senior roles at McCann-Erickson Worldwide during which time he managed accounts such as Coca-Cola, Motorola (News - Alert), and Georgia-Pacific. His teams have won numerous industry awards including Cannes Lions and Effies.

Evans serves on the Board of Directors for the American Advertising Federation, the Board of Visitors of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the College Football Hall of Fame and is a trustee and the immediate past Chairman of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Evans holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and B.S. in business administration from the University of North Carolina.

Evans will establish and lead MediaLink's Atlanta office, which becomes the fourth location in the U.S. for the firm. His appointment is effective immediately.
