MetraTech CEO Leads Chief Digital Officer Summit Discussion on Broadcast Media Challenges and Opportunities

WALTHAM, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

MetraTech Corp., the leading provider of Agreements-Based Billing™, commerce and settlement solutions, today announced that founder and CEO Scott Swartz will moderate a panel discussion titled, "Increasing Consumer Relevance in Today's Multiplatform Digital Age," during the Chief Digital Officer Summit in New York City on April 22. The broadcasting panel, which takes place Tuesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. ET, will provide best practices for attracting consumers across multiple platforms and unlocking opportunities for increasing customer value and growth.

The 2013 Big Broadcast Survey (BBS) by Devoncroft found that broadcast professionals deemed multiplatform content delivery the most commercially important trend to their business. As content consumption on non-television platforms, such as mobile or online, has risen, broadcasters must also adapt their business models to align with new products, platforms and distribution models, and work within the complex ecosystem that has arisen from the changing broadcasting landscape. Broadcasters need to determine which partnerships with communications service providers (SPs), device manufacturers, social networks and cloud-based services to leverage to effectively and efficiently deliver the best experience for consumers across all platforms.

The panel consisting of Mehul Nagrani, vice president and general manager of digital at Univision; Marc DeBevoise, executive vice president and general manager of entertainment, news and sports at CBS Interactive; Jeremy Legg, senior vice president of business development and multiplatform distribution at Turner Broadcasting (News - Alert) System; and Joe Ruffolo, senior vice president of ABC News Digital at ABC News, will address these and other top challenges broadcasters face in the digital era.

"Consumers have a greater say in how, where and when they view content, so broadcasters must react and adapt their business to meet these demands," said Swartz. "While this will require the brokerage and monetization of complex relationships and agreements between broadcasters, distribution service providers, device manufacturers and open Internet services, successful delivery of a multiplatform experience will unlock new streams of revenue."
