NEW YORK, June 30, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- SIRIUS XM Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI) announced today that it will launch a new 24/7 channel dedicated entirely to fantasy sports, offering sports fans from coast to coast fantasy sports advice and news from a collection of experts.

The channel will offer live programming every weekday, plus weekend programming, and will feature a lineup of talk shows hosted by an exceptional roster of fantasy sports experts, including Jacksonville Jaguars Pro Bowl running back Maurice Jones-Drew, former Major League Baseball general manager Steve Phillips, nine-time NHL All-Star Jeremy Roenick, golf analyst Alex Miceli, NBA veteran Dennis Scott, plus experts from well-known fantasy brands RotoExperts.com, RotoWire.com, FantasyGuru.com, FanBall.com and FantasyPros911.com. Fantasy leaguers from coast-to-coast can tune in for the latest fantasy sports news, stats and injury updates and call in to the hosts for advice on drafts, trades, waiver wire moves and other fantasy sports matters. Hosts will conduct mock drafts and furnish player rankings, player of the week picks and more.

"We've created a unique destination for fantasy sports fans," said Scott Greenstein, SIRIUS XM's President and Chief Content Officer. "Our listeners get live play-by-play from the NFL, MLB, NASCAR, NHL, NBA, PGA, soccer and more that allows them to follow all their fantasy players or teams in real time. Now they have a dedicated fantasy sports channel that they can tune into 24 hours a day that will give them the stats, injury news and expert advice they'll need to dominate their fantasy sports leagues." SIRIUS XM Fantasy Sports Radio is available to Premium Online subscribers through XM Radio Online and SIRIUS Internet Radio and will be available later this July through the SIRIUS XM App for the Apple iPhone, iPod touch and several BlackBerry and Android-powered smartphone devices. (Access to channel online and through the App may require a subscription upgrade.) Starting in August, Maurice Jones-Drew, the star running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars and a fantasy football favorite who finished the 2009 NFL season in the top 5 in rushing yards, TDs and all-purpose yards, will host a show every Friday (7:00 pm ET) throughout the NFL season. Jones-Drew, who is an avid fantasy football player, will take calls from listeners, manage his own fantasy football team on the show, and share his first-hand knowledge on the best fantasy football performers from around the league. Wondering who has the league's best run defense? Call Maurice for advice that comes straight from the gridiron.

Former Major League Baseball general manager Steve Phillips, who assembled the New York Mets team that won the National League pennant in 2000, will host SIRIUS XM Fantasy Baseball every weekday (8:00 pm ET). Fantasy GMs can call into the show on a nightly basis to get Phillips' expert front office advice on roster moves throughout the season.

Prior to the NHL season, nine-time NHL All-Star Jeremy Roenick will begin hosting a weekly fantasy hockey show on SIRIUS XM Fantasy Sports Radio. Roenick, an outstanding and outspoken center for 18 NHL seasons and only the third American-born player to score 500 goals, will take calls from fantasy hockey fans each week and offer unparalleled advice and insight into the game and its players.

Other programs will include a weekly fantasy basketball show hosted by former NBA forward Dennis Scott, one of the best three-point shooters in NBA history and a former ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, a weekly fantasy golf show hosted by Golf.com founder Alex Miceli, a weekly fantasy soccer show, and a weekly fantasy NASCAR show. Each show will be co-hosted by RotoExperts.com's Scott Engel.

SIRIUS XM will also leverage its position as the leader in audio entertainment to bring together other celebrity fantasy sports enthusiasts from the worlds of music, entertainment and sports, who will contribute to the channel in various ways, including participating in celebrity fantasy leagues and hosting fantasy sports shows.

"This is the kind of channel that exemplifies what can be delivered by satellite radio," said Greenstein. "To complement the in-depth and informative fantasy talk from the industry's experts, listeners will hear from all kinds of personalities, from actors and musicians in addition to current and former athletes, all with real fantasy sports knowledge. We will present a daily listening experience that is informative, and always engaging and entertaining."
