Huawei (News - Alert), a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, recently announced that the company is now a multi-year team sponsor and "Official Technology Partner" for the Washington Redskins.

As a result of the partnership, the home ground of the Redskins—FedExField—will now have a Wi-Fi network from Huawei. To improve game day experience for Redskins fans, Huawei will provide its Agile (News - Alert) Stadium Solution, which will enable the fans to access mobile apps, watch local video and share their game-time experiences with others via social media networks.

Jun Xu, vice president of Technical Solutions & Marketing at Huawei Enterprise USA, said, "It is an honor to work with the Washington Redskins, one of the most storied franchises in American sports. We look forward to working with the Redskins organization and leveraging our extensive experience with major stadiums around the world to create and provide the best game day experience to its technology-savvy fan base."

Huawei is committed to enhancing customer experiences and creating maximum value for telecom carriers, enterprises, and consumers. The company’s telecom network equipment, IT products and solutions, and smart devices are used in 170 countries and regions. With annual sales revenue of $39.6 billion in 2013, Huawei ranked 285th on the Global Fortune 500.

In related news, Saudi Telecommunication Company (STC) and Huawei recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as part of STC's strategic drive to enhance its networks and operations management capabilities while developing new business models for future growth.

As part of the MoU, STC has partnered with Huawei across a number of development fronts aimed at enhancing STC customer experience while at the same time optimizing operational costs through better understanding of customer needs and wants, and ultimately winning customer loyalty by creating much more value than before. That cooperation will include the advancement of new Customer Asset Monetization schemes, the joint development of eLTE solutions to discover vertical industry market, as well as the pioneering of new business models cooperating with over-the-top (OTT) service providers.
