Tickets.com Teams up with Mad Mobile
(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)
If you have not used Tickets.com, then the odds are good that you probably don't go out that much. For those of you who are not familiar with the site, it is a kind of comprehensive portal for getting tickets to events of all kinds, from the home game of your favorite team to the almost sold out show from the hottest band. If you want to get into an event, then Tickets.com is most likely going to have what you want on hand.
But what if you want to buy tickets on your mobile device, say when you find out that all of your friends do have tickets to the show and the ones you thought that you had aren't real? Then you are going to have to get a new ticket and get it fast. Or maybe you just want to have your barcode on the device, instead of having to print a ticket. Either way, that means that you and Tickets.com both need a mobile solution. To that end, they have paired up with Mad Mobile to enhance the mobile experience of their users. The company has not outlined the details of how the deal will make things better, and we may have to wait for a finished product for that.
How do the companies feel about this move? Well Ryan Kelly, the VP of sales and marketing for Mad Mobile had the following to say about the deal in a release put out by the company, "We recognize Tickets.com as a tremendous leader in the entertainment technology space and we want to be part of that great success story. When we look at what they've accomplished and how they've continued to innovate despite being in an extraordinarily challenging marketplace, we are completely committed to working with them. It's going to be a great partnership."
