Miami-Dade County and the Miami Marlins have selected ExteNet Systems to help improve fan experience by designing, building, managing and maintaining a DAS inside Marlins Park, home to the Miami Marlins.

Officials with ExteNet said T-Mobile and Verizon (News - Alert) have signed on to the company’s distributed antenna system (DAS) to improve wireless service for Marlins fans.

Thanks to the installation of ExteNet’s DAS, the stadium now is one of MLB’s (News - Alert) most state of the art facilities, enabling fans to stay connected before, during and after the game.

With the addition of a retractable roof, the Marlins will have no rain delays and an amazing fan experience, rain or shine, on hot Miami days.

“ExteNet has provided Marlins Park with the most comprehensive solution for wireless connectivity in our ballpark,” Claude Delorme (News - Alert), executive vice president of operations and events, Miami Marlins, said in a statement. “Our fans’ experience at a game is of upmost importance and by adding wireless service to our ballpark, we give them convenient access to email, texting and applications, including live video streaming, which certainly adds to their experience at Marlins Park.”

CEO ExteNet Ross Manire said Marlins Park is a great addition to Miami, and ExteNet is pleased to partner with the Marlins, Verizon, T-Mobile (News - Alert) and MetroPCS to bring wireless coverage to the stadium. ExteNet’s Network Operations Center (NOC) will provide 24/7 monitoring of the network year-round, according to company officials.

ExteNet Systems, Inc. designs, builds, owns, monitors and maintains distributed telecommunications networks for use by wireless carriers.

Earlier in January, ExteNet Systems announced it has been selected to design, build and operate a distributed telecommunications network at the Omni Severin Hotel in Downtown Indianapolis for use by multiple carriers.

The scope of the project covers 425,000 square feet of newly renovated guest rooms, as well as adjacent outdoor areas. The hotel is ideal for business and leisure guests because of its location in the heart of the downtown entertainment district and proximity to Circle Centre Mall, the Indiana Convention Center, Conseco Fieldhouse, Lucas Oil Stadium and the Georgia Street Improvement Project.
