RainedOut, SportsPilot Enter Partnership
RainedOut, a global provider of free event and group communication services, recently entered a partnership agreement with SportsPilot. According to the terms of the agreement, SportsPilot has integrated its league management service to RainedOut’s FREE+ group messaging, enabling the former’s clients to instantly communicate time-sensitive information to all of their members via SMS text messaging, email and social media.
FREE+, a sponsor-supported service that enables non-technical people to send instant alerts to the entire community for improved communication, will be used as a fundraising tool. Each league will be able to earn more from local sponsorships by sending more messages. FREE+ is used to cancel events, change plans, send reminders and more. Groups can raise money with every alert sent.
“SportsPilot is pleased to be partnering with RainedOut in order to integrate their text messaging capability into our league management service,” said Wes Hoffman (News - Alert), vice president of SportsPilot. “This will provide a much needed and convenient way for players, coaches, officials, and parents to stay informed about important league updates and scheduling changes. Many of our customers have been requesting this feature and RainedOut's technology was an obvious choice as we continue to improve our league registration, scheduling, and communication technology.”
As a cloud-based service, messages can initiate from any net-connected computer or from the field using a standard cell phone. With one simple interface, RainedOut instantly and simultaneously broadcasts alerts to subscribers' mobile phones (via SMS text message) and e-mail accounts, and to the organizations' own Web pages
“Communication among large groups of people can be challenging, especially for volunteer-based sports organizations,” said Bryan Crum, vice president of marketing for RainedOut. “Our solution quickly gives SportsPilot additional functionality without putting a strain on their cash flow or development resources. We look forward to this partnership with a leader in league management services and to further distribute our award-winning group communication service to empower America's amateur sports community.”
