With the integration of the Brightcove Video Cloud online video platform into Universal Sports Network's WordPress content management system, sports aficionados and dedicated fans can access any content on any device at any time on multiple screens during the 2012 Summer Olympics.

The global provider of cloud content services will use its video platform to deliver more than 2,000 hours of original, Olympic, adventure and endurance sports programming to both Adobe (News - Alert) Flash and HTML5 desktops and devices, according to company officials.

Moreover Video Cloud's Smart Players' ability to detect what device and bandwidth a viewer is using will help ensure that content is always optimized regardless of the viewing screen.

Eric Elia, vice president of TV solutions at Brightcove noted that Video Cloud's ability to support high quality live and on-demand video would enable Universal Sports Network to meet the current and future needs of its demanding viewers.

In addition to being able to cover world and national championship events extensively, Universal sports will also be equipped with critical analytics and reporting tools that can measure performance and help fine-tune content to meet the aggressive requirements of its audience and advertisers.

Elliott Gordon, vice president and general manager of digital at Universal Sports highlighted the significance of the role that Brightcove Video Cloud plays while providing an enhanced viewing experience.

Universal Sports offers a four-screen experience to fans of global sports every day of the year. Coupled with the exclusive rights it has to a wide array of world and national championship events, fans are surely in for an exciting time.

Adobe Pass seamlessly verifies users' entitlement to content simply and securely while viewers can use the content management platform provided by CSG International to subscribe to different content packages.

In other news, Brightcove recently unveiled its Video Paywall Solution Framework at the 2012 NAB Show.

The solution framework accelerates the introduction of paid video content services for media publishers by combining the scale, reliability and multi-screen reach of the Brightcove Video Cloud online video platform with best-in-class subscription management, payment processing, digital rights management (DRM) and content protection technologies, including Adobe Flash Access, Google Widevine (News - Alert), PayWizard, and TinyPass.
