B-Reel and Relativity Media Turn Big Screen Terror into Groundbreaking Mobile Experience

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Audiences will now be able to experience the chills of a big screen suspense thriller on their mobile device with the B-Reel (www.b-reel.com) launch of its spine-tingling new app 'Escape The House - a 3D Sound Experience' to promote Relativity's House at the End of the Street, starring Oscar®-nominee Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas, Piranha 3D), Oscar®-nominee Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games, X-Men: First Class) and Max Thieriot (My Soul to Take), in theatres tomorrow.

Available for free in the iTunes store, this haunting, immersive mobile experience features a crazed killer who traps players in a dark basement from which they must escape. Utilizing binaural sound technology, B-Reel has created a frightening game of hide-and-seek in which players navigate their way through a pitch-black labyrinth to safety.

An intuitive, minimal interface provides users with clear instructions on when to tap, shake, rotate or shout into their iPhone (News - Alert) in order to survive their ordeal. Just like in the movies, loud noises can grab the attention of the killer, so players must silently make their way up the basement stairs or risk being recaptured. The excitement builds as the killer closes in and corners his victims in various eerie scenarios.

With 'Escape The House - a 3D Sound Experience,' B-Reel has created an absorbing and terrifyingly real auditory adventure utilizing the sounds of, police sirens, heavy breathing, menacing footsteps, echoes and sudden bangs. Timing, speed, a steady hand and an excellent set of lungs are necessary to survive 'Escape The House - a 3D Sound Experience.'

Part game, part social media, B-Reel's Escape The House - a 3D Sound Experience rewards successful escapees with a bonus sound trailer custom created from their experience and screams that can be shared on Facebook (News - Alert).

B-Reel said, "'Escape The House - a 3D Sound Experience' is an interactive and audio/sensorial experience; it represents our closest step to a complete virtual immersion. Today's mobile devices are really powerful tools and are capable of more than just touching, scrolling and inputting commands. With this app we have built a realistic 3D environment with a rich sensorial experience, utilizing a multitude of different sensors and gyroscope to know how you want to move and how you react to the experience."

B-Reel continues, "While some applications have tried to exploit this technology, B-Reel wants to set the bar higher, delivering a virtual experience where users don't need to think how to interact, they simply need to feel it. You know that bad guy looking for you Just stay quiet, don't move, because he's after you!!"

"We could not have chosen a more innovative and forward thinking company to work with on this application than B-Reel," said Liz Jones, Relativity's Senior Vice President, Digital Mareting. "The app's ability to capture the thrilling spirit of House at the End of the Street through the immersive and interactive mobile sound experience is the perfect way to engage and activate our audience."

In House at the End of the Street, newly divorced Sarah (Shue) and her daughter Elissa (Lawrence) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared - leaving only a brother, Ryan (Thieriot), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah's wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan - and the closer they get, the deeper they're all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined. The film was directed by Mark Tonderai (Hush), from a story by Jonathan Mostow and screenplay by David Loucka (Dream House), and produced by FilmNation Entertainment's Aaron Ryder (The Prestige), A Bigger Boat's Peter Block (Saw franchise), and Hal Lieberman (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines).
