Microchip Soccer Ball to Improve Quality, Refs Advantage

Have you ever been on a soccer field, arguing with a referee about whether or not timing was correct, or whether the ball actually made it into the goal before the clock ran out?
As a former player, I wish this new gadget being developed by Cairos Technologies and Adidas was used when I was on the field.
The dynamic duo is developing a microchip-embedded soccer ball that will transmit a signal to the referee’s watch, alerting him when the ball crosses the goal line.
Man – that could’ve saved me so many yellow cards back in my day.
Back in 2005, reports surfaced that the balls were going to be tested at the 2005 FIFA under-17 World Championship in Peru.
I guess the testing didn’t go too well. We’ll have to wait and see if this makes a score with refs.
