NetStreams, a company providing Audio-Video over IP networking solutions and services recently acquired by ClearOne (News - Alert), has reportedly announced that an audio and control system has been recently installed at BC Place, a sports and entertainment complex situated in Vancouver, Canada.
BC Place, home of the Canadian football team BC Lions is going to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games’ opening and closing ceremonies.
Ian Wolfe, vice president of Acoustical Design Group, a Kansas-based consultant firm, had recommended the NetStreams DigiLinX IP-based audio solution for being installed at the venue.
The NetStreams system can be implemented on an existing data network infrastructure. The users can manage it from any location on the network in a remote manner. A NetStreams touchscreen controller has also been incorporated in each of the 55 luxury suites of the DigiLinX system installed at BC Place.
The NetStreams solution also fulfilled some additional requirements made by the BC Place stadium throughout the year, such as display custom graphics on every touch panel for each luxury suite. These custom graphics were supposed to change based on various events taking place in the stadium. Additionally, the BC Lion events needed additional display graphics changing on the basis of the teams playing against them in the Canadian Football League.
The solution features a translucent button function that has been incorporated in a number of projects by NetStreams, BC Place being one of them. It also includes some public safety features that would be displayed on every NetStreams touch panel. Western Pacific Enterprises GP, a provider of installation services in the region, made the complete upgrade of the luxury suites.
According to Ian Wolfe, Acoustical Design Group found the NetStreams system to be the best fit for the customer based on the requirements for the BC Place Project, and the solution offered excellent sound quality combined with the Martin Speakers, making the customer very happy.
Wolfe added that the NetStreams product is great, and the NetStreams technical staff went far above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that the system performed at the highest levels possible.
Recently, NetStreams announced that it received a patent for its Audio Network Distribution System. The patent was awarded to the company for streaming synchronized time-sensitive audio and video over Local Area Networks. This is the second patent for NetStreams. The firm in 2003 received Patent No. 241405 in Australia is to stream AV over Local Area Networks.
