Aldea Solutions Selects NTT Electronics' Video Encoder

NTT (News - Alert) Electronics, a company that provides digital video, photonics and broadband networking solutions, recently said that Aldea Solutions, a provider of services and solutions for the television and media industries, selected the company’s AVC/H.264 Video Encoder “HVE9230” for the worldwide transmission of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.


HVE9230 is an enhanced AVC/H.264 encoder which provides advanced features of 16 channel audio for 8 stereo, 5.1 ch. + stereo, or 8 PES transmission, Ancillary Data transmission or High Efficiency Video Mode in addition to the features available on HVE9200. The product also provides One Frame Super Low Latency for high quality video transmission, Closed Cationing for IPTV (News - Alert) or CATV AVC/H.264 transmissions.

"NTT’s encoders were selected for their high quality and reliability to deliver video transmission services to South America and they were well accepted by our customers." said Lionel Bentolila, CEO of Aldea. "We could respond to the expectations of our customers and broadcast the excitement of the competition from the Sochi Winter Olympics. We have started to use NTT codecs at the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and continued to use them for international sports coverage."

In related news, NTT Electronics recently announced availability of high performance 100G ROSA products for client optical interfaces. The Company said that the ROSA products consist of both PIN and APD devices and provide high performance. The APD ROSA, particularly, offers a cost effective solution for the NRZ 25G optical tributary signal with lower power dissipation.
