twiDAQ Announces the Olympic 100 Index Just in Time for the Olympics

July 19, 2012

(OLYMPICS TECHNOLOGY)

twiDAQ, the popular fantasy stock exchange game, has also jumped onto the  London 2012 Olympic Games bandwagon. For the uninitiated, twiDAQ is a free fantasy stock exchange game, which lets the players invest in any celebrity, politician, sporting hero or friend and live large vicariously in the virtual world. The game has quite a fan following and by incorporating the Olympic games into it, twiDAQ will further increase its popularity.

By adding the “Olympic 100” in its virtual stock exchange, twiDAQ manages to add a distinct sporting element to it. The Olympic 100, in a nutshell, is a catalogue of the 100 most popular Olympic and Paralympic Tweeters, following the share prices of the best athletes, Olympic teams and experts. The Olympic 100 index has been designed to track and follow all the crucial and key share price changes of the popular and most successful Olympians, such as Michael Phelps, Jessica Ennis, and Usain Bolt. Since, medal predictions on Twitter (News - Alert) are the norm of any sporting event, the Olympic 100 index will not ignore that as well.

twiDAQ founder, Jim Morrison said, “The London 2012 Olympics will be an exciting event for sports fans and Britain as a whole; twiDAQ will track the Twitter chatter of 1,500 Olympians and reflect it in virtual shares, adding an extra layer of excitement to this Summer's games.”

twiDAQ is available for free to Twitter users and has been designed to track the values of over 500,000 accounts, each with share to be conjectured and traded to enhance a player’s virtual worth. Apart from the dedicated Olympic index, the smorgasbord of accounts is categorized into other indices such as Media and Politics, Fame and Fortune, Web and Online, and Science and Technology. A free twiDAQ app is available for the iPhone via the Apple App Store, with Android (News - Alert) and iPad versions in development.
