LiveArena®, a Microsoft Global ISV, Launches LiveArena Broadcast Room™ - Automated Production of Corporate TV

Built entirely on Microsoft (News - Alert) Azure and using Azure Media Services, LiveArena Broadcast is a turnkey, end-to-end service that allows any organization to produce and broadcast live and on-demand TV to any device.

The ground-breaking production solution - LiveArena Broadcast Room - based on advanced pattern recognition and AI allows for fully automated production of live TV - no production staff required.

"We are proud to extend our family of easy-to-use, yet professional, production solutions with the LiveArena Broadcast Room. Integrating LiveArena Broadcast to Microsoft Azure and Azure Media Services enabled us to provide our customers with the best in simplicity and security on a global scale. LiveArena Broadcast Room will provide the same simplicity for live event production. It is a big step towards realizing our vision of enabling any organization to have their own TV-channel," said Anders Nilsson, CEO of LiveArena.

The advanced image detection technology supported by AI and Machine Learning used in LiveArena Broadcast Room is developed by the Dutch R&D organization TNO.

"At TNO we are excited that LiveArena, a global leader in the creation and delivery of live and on-demand corporate TV channels will integrate TNO's Virtual Director. With this integration, LiveArena will introduce a game-changing service, enabling fully automated TV productions," said Paul Valk, Head of TNO's Sport and Media technology department.

To simplify the production process even further, LiveArena Broadcast Room includes a plug-in to Microsoft Office 365 as its only management interface. The plug-in enables full end-to-end control of an automated LiveArena Broadcast Room production from scheduling a live broadcat to invite viewers.

To further increase reach and accessibility of live TV-programming produced in a LiveArena Broadcast Room, the service will integrate Azure Media Services and Azure Media Analytics for offering a live speech-to-text solution and real-time translation functions that enable the on-screen subtitling of live broadcasts as well as the live translation of those subtitles into more than 80 different languages.

Sudheer Sirivara, Microsoft General Manager for Enterprise Media, said, "We are pleased that LiveArena has integrated Microsoft Azure Media Services into its platform for cloud-based web broadcasting. LiveArena's specific use of Azure Media Services and Azure Media Analytics helps expand the availability of running live web broadcasts to a variety of market segments, supporting our mutual customers with increased audience reach, accessibility and content search functionality."
