Nexus Academy of Indianapolis Announces Partnership with iLEAD Schools; School Reopens on Aug. 21

Nexus Academy of Indianapolis, a fully accredited, A-rated and tuition-free high school in the heart of the City of Indianapolis, will join iLEAD Schools, a network of 10 charter schools throughout California and the Midwest, the school announced today.

The partnership will allow Nexus, a top-performing school near Broad Ripple Village, to continue its commitment to providing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum to highly motivated students throughout metro Indianapolis. Nexus will open its doors to students for the 2017-18 academic year on Aug. 21, and will continue to offer the same cutting-edge program that's earned the school an A rating for the last two years. Connections Academy will no longer provide management services but will continue providing its online curriculum for the 2017-18 school year. In addition, every student will be given a laptop to use throughout their Nexus career.

The school's blended model offers the flexibility of on-site instruction and home-based online study for a diverse student body that runs the gamut from Hollywood actors and Olympic divers to young parents and students seeking a robut college preparatory program. Last year, Nexus boasted a 100 percent graduation rate, with every graduating senior accepted to either a two- or four-year university. The class of 2017 received more than $1 million in scholarships.

"We're thrilled to join forces with the iLEAD team and are grateful for their support as we kick off the 2017-18 school year," said Jamie Brady, principal of Nexus Academy of Indianapolis. "We are currently accepting applications for students in grades nine through 12 for the upcoming school year, and we encourage interested families to contact us to learn more about what sets us apart."

The partnership is several months in the making and was a natural fit for both Nexus and iLEAD, according to Amber Raskin, co-founder and CEO of iLEAD Schools.

"We quickly realized after meeting with the Nexus Academy team that we share the same values, passion for student success, and desire to support a school that is without question serving a vital function for students across Indianapolis," Raskin said.

iLEAD co-founder and CEO Dawn Evenson added: "At iLEAD, our philosophy is simple - 'Free to think. Inspired to lead' - and we found in Nexus Academy a group of true kindred spirits who share that vision. We're proud to partner with this incredibly high-performing institution as they continue providing an exceptional out-of-the-box college preparatory model for their student population."
