Artemis Racing to Use Telephonics TruLink During 35th America's Cup RaceFARMINGDALE, N.Y., May 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE: GFF), announced today that it is providing TruLink® wireless intercommunication systems to the professional sailing team, Artemis Racing, for use during the 35th America's Cup in Bermuda. TruLink has been successfully utilized by the team during Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series events in Chicago, Bermuda and the United Kingdom, and will continue to support crew communications in future races. Artemis Racing represents Kungliga Svenska Segel Sallskapet, KSSS, also known as the Royal Swedish Yacht Club, and is seeking to win the America's Cup for their native Sweden. TruLink is well-suited for the sailing environment as it is both rugged, and fully submersible. During challenging racing conditions, TruLink enhances crew communications by blocking out background noises with built-in ambient noise reduction, and as a wireless system, enables Artemis Racing to remain mobile as it races for success. Nathan Outteridge, Skipper of Artemis Racing, commented, "Communication is absolutely critical when operating at high speeds on the water and the TruLink wireless communication system has performed well in our first year of use. Telephonics technology provides clear communications through its adaptive noise cancelling technology, delivering reliable communication and gives the team a performance edge." Richard Kent, Electronics Engineer for Artemis Racing added, "Telephonics TruLink enabled us to sail with clear and concise onboard communications between the sailors and support boats, which is a critical part of our operations. The technical support throughout the campaign has been outstanding and we look forward to continuing a great collaboration with Telephonics." "Telephonics is extremely pleased to provide our TruLink technology for this exciting, historical and competitive sport, providing the communications edge to the Artemis Racing crew during the America's Cup race," said Mr. Kevin McSweeney, President, Telephonics.
