Molex Celebrates Second Year as Official Sponsor of Bank of America Chicago Marathon


Molex, a leading global manufacturer of electronic solutions, continues its commitment to health and fitness and recruiting as part of its Chicago Marathon official sponsorship. The 2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, to be held Sunday, Oct. 9, is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors (AWMM) race series. The annual event makes a significant economic impact on the host city of Chicago and assists in raising millions of dollars for a variety of charitable organizations.

Molex (News - Alert) will continue the success of last year's program with an even larger group of runners representing Team Molex as well as an interactive booth experience at the Abbott Health and Fitness Expo. New for 2016, Molex has established a charitable giving program offering employees an opportunity to select and fundraise for a favorite charity. Donations can be made through CrowdRise at www.crowdrise.com/Molex.

"Our first year as a sponsor helped us demonstrate Molex's dedication to health and fitness, create visibility to drive recruiting efforts and give our employees a rewarding marathon experience," said Martin Slark, CEO, Molex. In its inaugural year, Molex created a very popular interactive Chicago running experience at the Abbott Health and Fitness Expo, cheered 75 Team Molex runners on during the marathon and brought 150 Molex employee volunteers to the aid station and to hand out heat sheets at the finish line. Team Molex already has commitments from more than 275 runners from across the globe for this event, including Brazil, China, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan and the U.S.

Molex will also be greeting race fans at the Abbott Health and Fitness Expo, to be held at McCormick Place Convention Center on Friday, Ot. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 8. Molex will have an enhanced interactive running experience at its booth, which brought in more than 3,000 participants last year giving them a chance to virtually run through the beautiful streets of Chicago. Molex will also have a presence throughout the race, including hospitality and information tents throughout the course.
