Integrated Microwave Technologies (IMT) Airborne Video Downlink System (AVDS) Takes Off at ALEA Expo 2016

SAVANNAH, GA, JUNE 29, 2016 - Integrated Microwave Technologies (IMT), a leader in advanced digital microwave systems serving the law enforcement, broadcast, sports and entertainment markets, is showcasing its Airborne Video Downlink System (AVDS) at ALEA EXPO 2016 (Booth 501). IMT's AVDS includes the Mini MobilCMDR, CIRAS-x6, CRx6 and DR3 IP Diversity Receiver, as well as the new VNS Video Streaming Server.

"IMT's Airborne Video Downlink System offers a complete downlink and distribution system for aircraft that includes a tactical receiver, a fixed receiver, State and County-wide IP diversity/aggregation systems, local hardware decode, video archive and IP video distribution systems," says Sean Drew, IMT Business Development Manager, Law Enforcement. "It is the most cost-effective solution for any law enforcement entity to have a state-of-the-art, turnkey system that can improve video workflow for its aviation units." The new VNS Video Streaming Server delivers video captured via aircraft to unlimited mobile devices over WiFi and cellular networks. Video can also be sent to fixed receive sites, which can then communicate back and forth with command sites for total video system integration. HD video is adaptively transcoded for the target device and network conditions ensuring unprecedented reliability. No special proprietary software viewer is required.

The IMT Mini MobilCMDR HD/SD is a small, ruggedized COFDM (DVB-T compliant) diversity handheld receiver/monitor. It offers exceptional RF performance and durability, combined with true ease of operation and superb H.264 and MPEG-2 decoding. The unit displays COFDM video transmissions using an integrated bright, daylight viewable high-resolution 16:9 format LCD screen. The display also features an intuitive easy-to-use touchscreen menu designed with the user in mind. The Mini MobilCMDR features AES Bcrypt decryption capabilities that make it ideal for applications ranging from public security monitoring to covert surveillance.

The Central Integrated Radome System x6 (CIRAS-x6) is a ruggedized COFDM (DVB-T compliant) six-way diversity receiver integrated into a six-segment antenna pod. It offers exceptional RF performance and IP-56-rated environmental durability for external use. The CIRAS-x6 system is designed to automatically optimize the receive signal at all times, and virtually eliminate all human intervention.

The compact Central Receiver (CRx6) is a ruggedized COFDM (DVB-T compliant) six-way diversity receiver. Typical diversity receive sites have the antennas and LNAs or BDCs mounted at the top of the tower with eight to 10 coaxial cables running the length of the tower to a receiver and decoder. This architecture makes the entire system susceptible to lightning and other EMI disturbances. By integrating the receiver with the antennas, IMT has reduced the coaxial runs from one to six Ethernet cables, while decreasing the susceptibility to lightning and overall system costs.

The DR3 is a third-generation diversity receiver incorporating all the best features of the company's popular DR1 and DR2, along with a host of exciting new features that set it apart from any other receivers on the market. Perfect for the most demanding central receive and portable applications, it is the first receiver to offer built-in IP diversity receiver switching. Designed to work with IMT's new High Dynamic Range Block Down Converters (HDRBDC) that automatically compensate for cable loss, up to eight receivers can be daisy-chained to share the same set of antennas and converters.
