James Keyte of Skadden Arps Named Director of Fordham's Competition Law InstituteFordham Law School has named James Keyte, a partner at Skadden Arps, as Director of the Competition Law Institute. Mr. Keyte is an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School, teaching comparative antitrust law. He has written over 30 academic articles on antitrust and, in addition, writes a monthly antitrust column for the New York Law Journal. He is the past Chair of the Trade, Sports & Professional Associations of the ABA Antitrust Section, a former senior editor of the Antitrust Law Journal and a current editor of Antitrust Magazine. At Skadden Arps, Mr. Keyte handles a wide variety of antitrust litigation, transactional and advisory matters. He is routinely listed as a leading practitioner in Chambers and in Who's Who: Legal. He replaces Barry Hawk, who is stepping down after serving as Director since the Institute launched in 1974. Mr. Hawk was formerly a partner at Skadden Arps and now serves as senior counsel at Labruna Mazziotti Segni. Mr. Keyte is overseeing the Institute's nnual International Antitrust Law and Policy Conference, a two-day event that starts October 1. Established 41 years ago during the Institute's first year, the Conference is now widely recognized as one of the premier events in the field of antitrust. In addition, this year the Institute has added a workshop targeting young antitrust lawyers, titled Antitrust Economics for Young (and Old) Lawyers, which takes place the day before the Conference on September 30. The workshop features panels led by leading academics, researchers, regulators and private practitioners.
