Vixlet to Host a Series of Elixir Meet-Ups


Vixlet is excited to announce it will be hosting a series of Elixir Meet-Ups in Downtown Los Angeles. Elixir is a fast-growing functional programming language founded by Jose Valim. The first in the series is scheduled to take place, today, Thursday, February 26th at 7 pm with Isotope11 CTO Josh Adams as the keynote speaker. Next month, on March 30th, Elixir founder Jose Valim, the creator of Elixir, will be presenting. Developers of all types interested in working with Elixir will network and hack together while speakers will offer their insights and expertise.

Adams will be giving an interactive talk about Extris, a Tetris-like game written in Elixir. He is the CTO of Isotope11, a software consultancy, and has previously architected large scale projects for government and private companies processing a billion transactions per year. He is active in both the Ruby and Elixir communities.

Elixir is a functional programming language best known for its ability to supprt distributed, fault tolerant, and realtime applications.
