SMT and NBC Sports Continue Partnership to Deliver Next-Generation Broadcast Technology

SMT (SportsMEDIA Technology), the leading provider of data integration, graphics presentation and video enhancement solutions to live sports and entertainment television, has again partnered with NBC Sports to deliver broadcast services for the network's presentation of Super Bowl XLIX, airing Sunday, Feb. 1. SMT's support also extends to NBC's Super Bowl XLIX pre-game show and the weeklong coverage by NBCSN's "Pro Football Talk."

A first for this year's Super Bowl is NBC's access to real-time positional data provided by the NFL's Next Generation Tracking system. SMT will provide a suite of products to integrate the data into the broadcast.

SMT will provide a seasoned staff of eight technicians to support NBC's super-sized buildup to its Super Bowl broadcast.

"With the addition of the NFL's Next Gen Stats and NBC's launch of its new graphics presentation, we have assembled a world-class team to support the effort," said Gerard J. Hall, president/CEO, SMT. "Our on-site team ensures the successful delivery of a comprehensive package of products and services that has undergone months of rigorous development."

SMT is also assisting NBC's pre-game show at noon from University of Phoenix Stadium. The show will utilize SMT's production tools such as the telestration system. SMT also provides the pre-game show team a real-time ticker and menu bar solution to anchor the broadcast presentation during their six-hour show.

SMT's systems will also be featured on NBCSN's "Pro Football Talk," to be broadcast Monday through Friday during Super Bowl week from "Super Bowl Central" studio in downtown Phoenix.
