Quiksilver Standardizes its Digital Commerce Operations on Demandware

Demandware® Inc. (NYSE: DWRE) the industry-leading provider of enterprise cloud commerce solutions, today announced that Quiksilver, the premium youth lifestyle and culture clothing brand, expanded its relationship with Demandware to roll out the cloud platform on a global scale. The company made the switch from an on-premise solution for improved time to market and to provide a consistent customer experience across multiple brands and geographies, while driving growth.

Quiksilver began its retail journey on the beaches of Australia, selling boardshorts to surfers. More than 40 years later, it is a multinational and multibrand apparel and accessory company with products sold in 100+ countries worldwide. Quiksilver's initial implementation with Demandware consisted of nearly 60 sites across Europe that resulted in a 65 percent increase in revenue in 2013. Quiksilver brands--Quiksilver, Roxy and DC Shoes--are now on the Demandware Commerce Cloud across all of North America, Europe, and Russia. The company is starting to implement in Brazil now and plans to scale on the cloud platform and move its APAC ecommerce sites onto Demandware in 2016.

"Demandware illustrated early on what a successful partnership looks like, making the global consolidation of our digital commerce operations on Demandware a natural move," said Jose Cledera, CIO, Quiksilver. "With Demandware, we are able to focus on our strategic business initiatives and enhance the consumer shopping experience. Demandware supports our global commerce strategy and helps us execute against it."

"To succeed in today's dynamic retail environment, we must prioritize the customer shopping experience," said Nicolas Foulet, SVP global digital, Quiksilver. "Successfully launching nearly 60 sites in under a year, Demandware exceeded our expectations. Demandware enables us to deliver a highly branded and integrated content and commerce experience that is contributing to the growth of our online sales."

According to a recnt L2 study, commerce experiences that are infused with strategic content educate, engage and convert the consumer--bringing them further down the path to purchase and increasing retail sales. The new ecommerce sites embody the Quiksilver brands and integrate content and commerce into the shopping experience. Detailed product information and reviews, rich imagery and videos are used throughout the site to help illustrate the brand experience. The Quiksilver and Roxy blogs highlight surf and snow stories, how to's and tips with action images and videos, while also providing quick links to purchase products. The sites also allow consumers to shop by categories, such as activity or collection, and are mobile optimized using Demandware's responsive web design capabilities.

"Quiksilver is a prime example of how retailers are making the switch to the cloud to benefit from faster time to market and easily deliver consistent and responsive brand content," said Jeffrey Barnett, COO, Demandware. "An integrated content and commerce customer shopping experience helps convert consumers to buyers and boost retailers' top line performance. We're delighted to be a part of Quiksilver's rapid growth journey as the company expands its brands across multiple markets."
