RTI Surgical™ Hosts Winter Biologics Spine Symposium

RTI Surgical Inc. (RTI) (Nasdaq: RTIX), a global surgical implant company, is hosting a surgeon education symposium focused on the use of biologic implants in spine surgery tomorrow in New York.

The symposium will feature keynote speaker Dr. Harvinder Sandhu from the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York who will discuss utilizing current evidence to make informed choices when using bone graft materials. Dr. Sigurd Berven of the University of California, San Francisco, will serve as event chairman. The symposium will also feature presentations from five additional surgeon faculty members from around the country. Presentation topics will include the science behind bone grafting technologies including growth factors, stem cells, allograft and synthetic biologics, and the cost effectiveness of new technologies.

"RTI's winter spine symposium is promising to be one of the most successful educational programs we've hosted this year," said Brian Hutchison, president and CEO of RTI Surgical. "It's a privilege to bring this group of esteemed surgeons together and we are excited to facilitate as they examine the science, clinical experience, and policy implications of the choices they make in surgery."

This meeting is the last in a series of four educational symposia that RTI will host in 2014 as part of the RTI STRIDES (Surgical Training, Research, Investigation, Development, Education and Skill) surgeon education and engagement program.
