Herbalife Expands Partnership with American Youth Soccer Organization with Launch of "Fit from the Sidelines" Program


LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)--

Herbalife (NYSE: HLF), a leading global nutrition company, today announced that it is partnering with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) to launch a new healthy-living program called "Fit from the Sidelines." The program expands Herbalife's six-year partnership with AYSO to highlight and educate families about the importance of a healthy, active life.

"Fit from the Sidelines" will provide simple exercises and activities that parents can easily do from the sidelines of their children's soccer games and practices. Herbalife's director of worldwide fitness education and former Olympic athlete Samantha Clayton is working with AYSO to create and lead the program. The 10-week long program is geared toward busy parents and includes tips and information about health, nutrition and exercise. The program will help parents lead healthy and active lifestyles while still making time to cheer on their kids. AYSO will begin implementing the "Fit from the Sidelines" program nationwide throughout September.

Herbalife and AYSO have also partnered to create and launch a new family microsite. The site provides nutrition education and fitness information specifically for families.

Herbalife and AYSO are also sponsoring Facebook (News - Alert), Twitter and Instagram contests to encourage parents nationwide to get fit with their kids. From September 19 - November 23, 2014, AYSO parents are encouraged to post photos using the hashtag #FitFromTheSidelines. Each week, a winner will be selected. The AYSO league with the most submissions after 10 weeks will get to participate in a clinic with USA soccer star Omar Gonzalez.
