Standup for the Cure Announces Miami Event to Benefit Susan G. KomenMIAMI --(Business Wire)-- After three successful years, Standup for the Cure, alongside its national sponsor, Ambry Genetics, and presenting sponsor, Riviera Paddlesurf, announces Standup for the Cure Miami to benefit the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. The team, led by founder Judie Vivian and Event Director Dan Van Dyck, will be hosting the event at the Miami Yacht Club on November 8, 2014 as the second in a series of nationwide events aimed at expanding Standup for the Cure's mission to raise money and awareness for early breast cancer detection, research, treatment and education. "Standup for the Cure's focus is to introduce non-paddlers to the healthy lifestyle of standup paddling, while building a supportive community bound by the desire to rid the world of breast cancer," stated Event Director Dan Van Dyck. The Standup for the Cure Event features instruction from top international paddleboard experts, including World Champion Zane Schweitzer, as well as melanoma and breast cancer screening, live music, and a health and fitness expo. The remaining twenty-five percent supports the national Komen Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
