The Westin Peachtree Plaza Launches Innovative Meeting Enhancements

ATLANTA --(Business Wire)--

The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta's John Portman-designed, AAA Four Diamond hotel that recently underwent a grand $70 million renovation, is redefining the meeting experience by launching several distinctive enhancements including its Think Well Speakers Program, "I Climbed The Peach" team-building challenge and Tangent™ at Westin. In keeping with the Westin brand's commitment to well-being, these unique offers help planners and attendees Work Well, Move Well and Feel Well.

"By thinking outside the box, we're bringing meetings into the future and giving planners a holistic experience that anticipates and answers the needs of today's meeting attendees," said Ron Tarson, general manager of The Westin Peachtree Plaza. "With 200,000 gross square feet of meeting space, we have the perfect environment to foster these dynamic, tailored sessions."

Think Well Speakers Program

As part of the meeting package, The Westin Peachtree Plaza offers its complimentary Think Well Speakers Program, with a variety of notable industry leaders and experts who can discuss ways to improve individual and team performance and wellness. Organizations of all sizes can relate to topics like bridging the gap between productivity and peace of mind, employees are your first customer, meeting vs. working and practice management. Speakers are coordinated through the hotel, leaving meeting planners with only one tough decision - which thought leader to choose from the list.

Unforgettable Team-building Activities

The Westin Peachtree Plaza's distinctive team-building activities will improve meeting attendees' physical and mental well-being, pushing them to work together and connect through a common goal.

For a once in a lifetime experience, meeting attendees can embark on the "I Climbed The Peach" challenge. In small groups, attendees sign up to climb the 72 stories to the top of The Westin Peachtree Plaza where they will receive an "I Climbed The Peach" t-shirt - a souvenir that doubles as bragging rights for conquering the Southeast's tallest hotel. But for competitors and sightseers alike, the real prize is the breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline.

For an activity closer to the ground, the hotel offers RunWESTIN™. As a team, meeting attendees join a RunWESTIN™ Concierge on a three mile guided run around the city to sightsee while enjoying a physical activity. No tennis shoes or work out clothes? No worries. With the New Balance Gear Lending program, shoes and clothing are available for guests to use for $5 during their entire stay.

Meeting guests can also work together to support the community they are visiting with On-Site Specialty Events such as "Spread the Good." This activity combines team building and giving. Attendees are broken into groups and compete to make the most sandwiches that are then donated to a local shelter.

Technology-Driven Meetings of the Future

Even during an engaging meeting, day-to-day business responsibilities are still on the forefront. With The Westin Peachtree Plaza's recently launched Tangent™ at Westin, attendees can check back in with their offices while on-the-go. The ad-hoc meeting space is rentable by the hour and available for up to six people. Outfitted with cutting-edge videoconferencing technology, wired and wireless Internet, computers, printers, floor-to-ceiling whiteboards and more, Tangent™ at Westin is perfect for keeping in touch and even impromptu breakout sessions.

During the planned meeting, guests benefit from the hotel's advanced technology and connectivity including high-speed wireless internet access with up to 150 megabits of speed per second. All spaces utilize onsite AV services and can support various presentation requirements.

Revitalized Meeting and Event Spaces

To support these new enhancements, The Westin Peachtree Plaza has 200,000 gross square feet of meeting space, including 53 recently renovated meeting rooms and Building 1 of AmericasMart, which is conveniently connected to the hotel. In addition, the hotel offers flexible room setups to inspire and engage attendees. For example, pod seating is available for sessions that require brainstorming and teamwork.

Knowing that the best ideas sometimes come outside the meeting walls, The Westin Peachtree Plaza provides thoughtfully-appointed seating zones in its recently redesigned lobby to facilitate collaboration. Meeting planners can also book the hotel's spectacular Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View resting high above the city. The tri-level, revolving upscale complex features seasonal, ingredient-driven fare, panoramic views of Atlanta and customizable event spaces on each floor.

Leave Feeling Better

Outside of the meeting, The Westin Peachtree Plaza ensures guests achieve true revitalization during their downtime. As part of the Westin's partnership with Headspace, all guests - including meeting attendees - have online and mobile access to find their center, with audio and visual content designed to promote meditation while increasing mindfulness. The hotel's 1,073 newly renovated guest rooms and suites also feature signature Heavenly® amenities for soothing relaxation.

As a premiere meeting destination, The Westin Peachtree Plaza provides these next-level amenities in the bustling hub of downtown Atlanta, with many of the city's renowned attractions just steps away including Centennial Park, the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, the newly-opened National Center for Civil & Human Rights and the soon-to-be-unveiled College Football Hall of Fame.
