BRIEF: Uzbekistan appoints new minister of culture and sports

Feb 26, 2013 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- TASHKENT, Uzbekistan -- Minkhojiddin Khojimatov has been appointed as Minister of Culture and Sports by Uzbek President's decree.

By another presidential decree Tursunali Kuziev, who has served as the minister since June 2011, was dismissed from his post.

Prior to this appointment, Minkhojiddin Khojimatov served as First Deputy Chairman of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan.
