BRIEF: COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Lady Wranglers try to stay on a roll

Jan 10, 2013 (Odessa American - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Odessa College women's basketball will look to continue a hot start when it travels to Borger today to face Frank Phillips College in Western Junior College Athletic Conference action.

The Lady Wranglers (12-3 overall, 1-0 WJCAC) opened up conference play Monday by beating Western Texas College 75-61 at the OC Sports Center.

WJCAC leading scorer Angenay Williams scored a game-high 20 points, while Morgan Holly finished with a double-double, recording 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Odessa College has won seven consecutive games, and is 10-1 in its last 11 contests.

Frank Phillips (8-7, 1-0) has split games this week, outscoring Clarendon College 102-95 in its WJCAC opener Monday then falling 71-59 to Trinidad State Junior College on Tuesday.

Four Lady Plainsmen players scored in double figures to lead Frank Phillips in the win over Clarendon, led by Natasha Thomas with 17 points. Permian graduate Cheyenne Swoopes finished with 14 points.
