Lost Parrot to host fundraiser for Mac's Toy Fund
Nov 16, 2012 (The Register-Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Lost Parrot has raised over $35,000 for charity in the past four years and on Dec. 1, they are hoping to increase that total.
A fundraiser for Mac's Toy Fund will be hosted Dec. 1 at The Lost Parrot, located at 314 Neville St. in uptown Beckley.
"Mac's Toy Fund is a local program that puts toys under trees for many needy children who might otherwise not experience the gift of giving and receiving like the rest of us," said managing partner Julian Chipley.
PolyChrome, from Roanoke, Va., will headline the event.
"These guys have been performing at The Lost Parrot whenever we can get them here," Chipley said. "They always bring a crowd and everyone has fun." The Lost Parrot will charge a $5 donation per person for this event. A free bottle opener will be given to those who donate $8, a free baseball cap for $10 donations, and a free ladies T-shirt for $15 donations.
"We are a small venue and space is limited. We hope as many of your that can will come out and donate as much as you can." Chipley said for the last two years, there has been a line of people down the street waiting to get in.
"Come early and have fun while helping us raise money for Mac's Toy Fund." For more information, call 304-929-2621 or e-mail lost@thelostparrot. com.
