ASUG CEO Bridgette Chambers Wins 2012 Stevie® Award for Women in Business
CHICAGO --(Business Wire)--
Bridgette Chambers, CEO of Americas' SAP (News - Alert) Users' Group (ASUG), the
world's largest independent community of SAP professionals, has won the
Silver Stevie® Award in the Female Executive of the Year - Business
Services category at the 9th annual Stevie Awards for Women
in Business.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word that means
"crowned," the Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world's top
honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, and the organizations they
run. This year's winners were announced at a Nov. 9 dinner at the
Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. In excess of 1,200 nominations
were received from organizations of all sizes and types representing 17
nations and territories. More than 200 executives worldwide participated
in the judging process.
Chambers' win recognizes her achievements in reinvigorating ASUG
following the remarkable financial and operational transformation she
completed in 2011. Under Chambers' leadership, ASUG has introduced more
than 75 new or ehanced initiatives over the past two years to better
serve, educate, network and elevate the voices of ASUG's 130,000-plus
members at 3,500 companies representing 17 industries.
The organization's volunteer-led chapters, Special Interest Groups, and
Influence Councils also have grown and been re-energized. In addition,
Chambers has created and championed many new networking and leadership
training opportunities for ASUG members, including a new ASUG Executive
Exchange community for senior executives and influencers, and a new ASUG
Leadership 2.0 community captained by Olympic gold medalist and WNBA
champion Lisa Leslie to help SAP professionals cultivate
high-performance teams.
Chambers' 2012 Women in Business Stevie award follows three American
Business Awards she and ASUG earned earlier this year.
"ASUG brings together individuals at all levels from businesses of all
types and sizes to form the strongest consolidated voice of SAP users
and influence across the globe, and it's an honor to be a member of such
a vibrant community," Chambers said. "These awards are a reflection of
the collective achievements of ASUG volunteers, staff and leadership who
work every day to help ASUG members drive and derive the most value
possible from SAP software."
