Telematics Update: Spotify Sets its Sights on the Car Radio

San Diego, CA, Oct 08, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- As app development issues across the automotive platforms are being solved, and connectivity increases, it has made it easier for content providers such as Spotify to consider this route to customers. Spotify would look to use the car's connected technology and an inbuilt app to provide their radio service over the internet, allowing its users to listen to their favourite music on the road. Spotify's movements reflects a growing interest in the automotive market as a platform for apps and a new way to engage with consumers.

On Wednesday this week, London played host to the Apps World Conference, Europe's largest focused apps conference to date. Telematics Update's Managing Director, Precksha Saksena-Sood, spoke on an automotive panel, alongside BMW and Ford, and addressed how apps are becoming integrated into the vehicle. She noted, "Solutions are now being launched that allow for app development across platforms. This means the complexities for development in the auto-industry are rescinding and opening the gates for an automotive apps ecosystem".

The automotive vertical presents a new and intriguing avenue for content providers and app developers. In light of this Telematics Update has organized the Content and Apps for Automotive USA 2012 Conference in San Diego, CA (December 4-5) which focuses on the roadblocks for integrating apps into the vehicle.
