BRIEF: Badgers football: Somehow, Oregon State beats Bielema's video embargo
Sep 07, 2012 (The Wisconsin State Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Despite his best efforts at gamesmanship, University of Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema said he figured Oregon State would obtain a copy of the coaches' game video against Northern Iowa.
Bielema had said UW wouldn't share its copy with the Beavers because Oregon State had nothing to exchange, as its scheduled game against Nicholls State was postponed because the Louisiana school couldn't practice amid the effects of Hurricane Isaac.
He also contacted the Big Ten Conference offices to make sure nobody else in the league helped out the Beavers.
Yet, Beavers coach Mike Riley confirmed to reporters in Oregon earlier this week that his coaching staff indeed had secured a copy.
"I knew they were going to (get the film)," Bielema said. "I was just trying to make it difficult." Asked if he knew how Oregon State had gotten the film, Bielema said, "I don't know. It wasn't anybody from the Big Ten. I don't know how that happened." ___ (c)2012 The Wisconsin State Journal (Madison, Wis.)
