Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland Selects ChartLogic EHR

SALT LAKE CITY --(Business Wire)--

Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland, with 12 physicians and three offices, has selected the ChartLogic Electronic Health Record (EHR) Suite. The medical group includes ten orthopedic surgeons, a doctor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, a podiatrist and three physician assistants. It has offices in Baltimore, Columbia and Eldersberg, MD. The group serves patients in the areas of sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, onsite diagnostic imaging, joint replacement and a range of joint, bone, muscle, back and related conditions and injuries.

The group will adopt the SaaS (News - Alert)-based ChartLogic 8 EHR Suite including the ChartLogic EMR, ChartLogic Document Management, ChartLogic ePrescribe and ChartLogic Patient Portal. ChartLogic's EHR is fully certified and deigned for specialty practice workflows, serving some 2,000 physicians nationwide. More than 300 ChartLogic customers have received federal EHR meaningful use incentives to date.

"Orthopaedic Associates selected ChartLogic because we felt it gave us the best chance to deal with meaningful use and had the flexibility to handle our various doctor's work patterns," said Kathy Starsoneck, office manager.

The medical group will install the SaaS-based ChartLogic 8 EHR on their own servers. This will give them full control over the data, while enabling access from remote locations via the web.

According to Zubin Emsley, chief executive officer of ChartLogic, "A busy medical group like Orthopaedic Associates will benefit from the flexibility of ChartLogic 8. The system offers more orthopedic content than any other EHR including templates, macros, flow sheets and patient education materials. In addition, the EHR can adapt to different physician preferences for entering and retrieving clinical information. It enables physicians to input data via voice recognition, keyboard, point and click and touch-screen."

Founded in 1994, ChartLogic serves a wide variety of specialty medical groups including ENT, orthopedics, podiatry, general surgery, sports medicine and pulmonology. The company offers two comprehensive electronic health record suites that include a patient portal, superior medical billing software, document management and interactive patient education.
