McLaren 12C Can-Am Edition to Debut at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

Aug 20, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- McLaren GT, the racecar manufacturing arm of the McLaren Group, said it is presenting the 12C Can-Am Edition.

According to a release, the one-off design study is finished in McLaren Orange and satin black.

Being a concept at this stage, and designed as 'ultimate track car', the 12C Can-Am Edition is not subject to the regular racing regulations, despite being based on the 12C GT3 race car, the company said. The revised version of the familiar 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine features an engine calibration and optimised cooling system that allows a power output of up to 630hp.

The overall dry weight is 2645.5lbs (1,200kg), McLaren noted.

McLaren Automotive is a manufacturer of sports cars.
