ESPN analyst Doug Gottlieb considers jumping to CBS Sports, according to report

ESPN basketball commentator Doug Gottlieb, who also hosts a show for ESPN Radio, is considering a multi-platform offer from CBS Sports, BigLeadSports.com reported Wednesday. He is expected to decide by the end of the month if he will jump to the network.
Gottlieb, 36, a former Oklahoma State point guard and Sports Animal radio network host, has been at ESPN since 2003, and his contract expires in September. His radio show airs 3-6 p.m. weekdays on ESPN Radio, including ESPN 640 in Oklahoma City.
According to the website, Gottlieb's offer from CBS includes announcing college basketball games, including the NCAA Tournament, his own radio show and a TV show on CBS Sports Network. Gottlieb, who grew up in Orange County, Calif., would be based out of Southern California for the shows.
Gottlieb could not be reached for comment.
CBS Sports is launching a new sports radio network in January that it hopes eventually will rival ESPN Radio. Cumulus Media, which owns the Sports Animal, is a partner in the new radio network.

-- The Texas Rangers' first half success on the field has been just as impressive on the Dallas-Fort Worth TV front. Rangers games on Fox Sports Southwest are averaging a 6.2 rating in the Metroplex, an 83 percent increase over last year. The 6.2 average is fifth best among MLB teams at the All-Star break, behind Detroit, 8.6; Cincinnati, 8.4; St. Louis, 8.3; and Boston, 7.4.
-- Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is interviewed by Bob Costas at 6 p.m. Thursday on MLB Network for a special commemorating the 60th anniversary of comedy duo Lou Abbott & Bud Costello's first televised performance of the "Who's on First?" routine. The program features footage of the routine, interspersed with comments from Seinfeld on how it influenced him as a comedian and baseball fan.
-- Costas also narrates a special marking the 10-year anniversary of the death of former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Darryl Kile. "The Life and Death of Darryl Kile" will air at 8 p.m. Thursday on the MLB Network.
-- Despite the 8-0 blowout victory by the National League, Fox's national rating for the All-Star Game (6.8) was down only 1 percent from last year. The game only got a 4.7 on KOKH-25.
-- HBO Sports will air a super lightweight title match between Amir Khan and Danny Garcia at 10 p.m. Saturday from Las Vegas.
