BRIEF: Porsche swiped during test drive, police say
SANTA CRUZ, Jun 08, 2012 (Santa Cruz Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- It appears a couple became quite smitten with a Porsche during a test drive Friday, as the sports car was reported stolen some minutes later.
The caper began when a couple on a bike rode up to a sales lot on Water Street and asked to test drive the 2004 Porsche late Friday morning, police said.
The car was reported missing about 12:30 p.m., when the couple failed to return it, according to emergency dispatches.
Sgt. Mike Medina said officers are still investigating, but that it appears the couple convinced a newer salesman to let them take the car and then absconded with it.
