BRIEF: Tulsa gets verbal commitment from linebacker Gooden

Jun 01, 2012 (Tulsa World - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- C.J. Gooden has given a verbal pledge to play football at the University of Tulsa.

The Class of 2013 recruit informed TU's coaches of his decision on Thursday night. Gooden is a 6-2, 215-pound linebacker from Ashdown (Ark.) High School.

Gooden, who visited campus last February, is Tulsa's fourth commitment from next year's class and the first out-of-state recruit.

TU has received non-binding verbal commitments from OL Rob Boyd (Vian), RB Chris Hall (Union) and Ben Oberste (Sallisaw).
