ELK GROVE, Ill. --(Business Wire)--
The Citi Team USA Flag Tour made its seventh stop today at Citi's site
in Elk Grove. U.S. Olympic triathlete Gwen Jorgensen, a member of Team
Citi through Citi's sponsorship of the United States Olympic Committee,

"It is truly an honor to host U.S. Olympic triathlete Gwen Jorgensen and
bring the energy and excitement of the Olympic Games to Elk Grove," said
Sharp. "Today's event provides Citi colleagues with a unique opportunity
to learn about Gwen's inspiring journey from ambition to achievement and
celebrate the commitment to excellence we share."
At the event, Jorgensen spoke to a crowd of 200 people about her
participation in Citi's Every Step of the Way? program, an innovative
digital program benefitting U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls and
athletes of all ages in communities across America. She shared her
personal story and her involvement with the Boys and Girls Club of
Greater Milwaukee.
Jorgensen works to support the Greater Milwaukee chapter in their
journey to inspire and empower all young people - especially those in
need - to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and
caring citizens.
To launch the Every Step of the Way program, Citi has donated $500,000
to the USOC to benefit U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Sport Programs in
communities across the country. Citi's $500,000 donation is being
represented by 50 million ThankYou® Points -- the currency of Citi
ThankYou® Rewards.
This unique program allows the American people to help allocate these
ThankYou® Points to sport programs through activity on Facebook (News - Alert) and
Twitter, allowing Team Citi athletes to say "thank you" to the sport
programs that have inspired hem. Fans can join the movement on Citi's
Every Step of the Way Facebook page (Facebook.com/CitiEveryStep) and at citi.com/everystep.
As the official bank sponsor of Team USA and the USOC, Citi is bringing
the Olympic spirit to Citi sites and locations across the country in the
months leading up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Through the Citi Team USA Flag Tour, employees and community partners
have the opportunity to meet Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls, hear their
inspirational stories and show their support for Team USA.
The Citi Team USA flag will be flown at the site through the London 2012
Olympic and Paralympic Games. Previous tour stops have included Citi
sites in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Irving, Texas, Tucson, Arizona,
Jacksonville, Florida, Long Island City, New York, and Hagerstown,
Maryland.
