MobileIron Launches Connected Cloud

Aug 23, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- MobileIron announced the availability of the MobileIron Connected Cloud, the first multi-tenant mobile device management (MDM) cloud service to integrate with existing enterprise security infrastructure.

With the Connected Cloud, IT departments can deploy thousands of smartphones and tablets without sacrificing enterprise-grade security, and they can begin securely distributing mobile apps using MobileIron's Enterprise App Storefront. The Connected Cloud can be fully integrated and operational in less than hour and the cost is $4 per month per managed device. The MobileIron Connected Cloud is a multi-tenant platform that was beta-tested by 11 enterprise companies including six of the Fortune 1000.

"Two overriding trends, consumerization and cloud computing, are driving major changes within the IT organizations of large companies," said Chris Hazelton, Research Director, Mobile and Wireless, at the 451 Group. "The marriage of cloud and MDM supports IT's need for quick deployments and users' desire for choice, by offering highly scalable infrastructure that provides the tools to manage an expanding number of smartphones and tablets in the enterprise." "Innovation and change is happening more quickly in mobile than in any other area that IT has to manage," said Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron. "With the Connected Cloud, we give enterprises a way to move fast and keep up with mobile technology without sacrificing the connectivity their security requires. In the past, cloud-based MDM systems have been disconnected from enterprise security infrastructure and the bottom line is that if it's not connected it's not secure." MobileIron is a provider of enterprise management and security for mobile devices and apps.
