LG Mobile Light up Lagos NYSC Camp


Apr 18, 2011 (Daily Independent/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- Driven by the desire to effectively connect with its youth market, Global leader in Consumer Electronics and Mobile Communications, LG Electronics, through sponsorship of various engaging activities at the Lagos camp of the recently concluded 2011 Batch 'A' National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) gave the Lagos State NYSC corps members reasons to desire an extension of camp as it sparked up the camp with youth engaging activities and mouth watering gift items.



Contributing to the camp activities as the sole sponsor of the inter platoon football tournament and co-sponsor of the Mr. Macho and Miss. NYSC beauty pageant contests, LG Mobile further sparked-up the Lagos NYSC camp with daily camp activities which saw winning participants cart away various gift items.

The first, second and third prize winners of both the Mr. Macho and Miss. NYSC beauty contest went home with prize monies and different LG Mobile phones and electrical appliances.


Speaking on the sponsorship initiatives of the NYSC camp activities, General Manager, LG Electronics, West Africa Operation, Mr. Steve Koh, explained that LG saw the camping of hundreds of youths from different parts of the country as another opportunity for the electronic giant to once again bond emotionally with a major segment of its consumers - the youth market.

His words, "We recognize the power of bonding and the need for constant consumer engagement and thus, readily explore every opportunity to interact with and make our customers experience our unique customer value principles which makes us respond to their yearnings and thus create an emotional bond with them".

Some of the daily activities also initiated by LG Mobile which also saw the final winners going home with LG TVs and Mobile phonesng are the LG Talent Lockdown (Freestyle Rap & Miming); LG Dance Lockdown (Music & Dance Competition) amongst others.

The Youth corp members were also given the opportunity to explore various LG Mobile Phones ranging from Dual Sim to Smart phones. Commending LG Mobile on the initiative, the captain of Platoon 9, winners of the inter platoon football match stated that "the prize money from LG Mobile attached to the trophy was a major morale booster for my team. After qualifying for the finals, I said to my team, let's go for the trophy and the cash".
