(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. will be hosting the Super Bowl XLVII on February 3, 2013 and Cellular Specialties, a provider of products and services enabling anytime anywhere wireless connectivity, stated that it is in charge of designing, deploying and commissioning the wireless infrastructure in and around the superdome and will ensure that the fans receive the best wireless experience.

Kelley Carr, president of Cellular Specialties’ Custom Solutions Group commented, “Cellular Specialties has spent the last several years cementing its place as the premier wireless services provider for dense capacity stadiums and arenas where an enhanced fan experience is not only expected, but required. As we did in Indianapolis last year, we're proud to play a role in connecting the fans, teams and organizations that make the ‘Big Game’ such a great event.”

Cellular Specialties provides wireless solutions customized to meet the unique needs of stadiums and arenas. It will analyze a location’s specific wireless requirements and set a strategy that will best ensure application performance and content delivery, while enabling and maximizing revenue models. By implementing the in-building wireless technology from Cellular Specialties, the superdome will be able to enjoy benefits like enhanced fan experiences, unique revenue opportunities and various operational benefits.

Cellular Specialties is managing the cellular and Wi-Fi services in the Superdome campus, league headquarters, local hotels, team practice facilities, and media and fan event sites so that public safety communications in and around the arena is adequately met and the wireless infrastructure designed by the company should cater to fans’ access requirements for in-game video, scores, stats, social media and a host of other content from their smartphones and tablets.

Recently, Cellular Specialties installed 4G network at Gillette Stadium and breathed new life into in-building wireless service at Florida’s Lee Memorial Health System.
